Ushbu maqolada axborot texnologiyalari (IT) sohasida keng qo‘llaniladigan qisqartma terminlarning lingvistik va funksional xususiyatlari tahlil qilingan. Tadqiqotda IT terminologiyasidagi abbreviaturalarning shakllanish usullari (akronim, bosh harf qisqartmalari va h.k.) hamda ularning mutaxassislararo muloqotdagi roli o‘rganiladi. Natijalar IT terminlarining sezilarli qismi qisqartmalardan iborat ekanini, bu esa kommunikativ samaradorlikni oshirishi barobarida yangi o‘rganuvchilar uchun tushunishni qiyinlashtirishi mumkinligini tasdiqladi. Ushbu mavzuning chuqur o‘rganilishi terminshunoslik va tarjimashunoslik nuqtayi nazaridan muhim bo‘lib, texnik atamalarni standartlashtirish va ularni izohli qo‘llash orqali tushunishni yengillashtirish zarurligini ta’kidlaydi.
