Discourse analysis is a multidisciplinary research approach that examines language use in social contexts in order to understand how meaning is constructed, negotiated, and reproduced through communication. In contemporary media environments, TV headlines play a crucial role in shaping public perception by summarizing complex events into short, impactful statements. This study explores the role of discourse analysis in examining TV headlines, focusing on framing, ideology, agenda-setting, and ethical considerations. Using qualitative and descriptive analytical methods, the paper demonstrates how linguistic choices in TV headlines reflect broader social, political, and cultural contexts. The findings reveal that TV headlines are not neutral representations of reality but ideologically charged constructions that influence audience interpretation and public discourse. The study contributes to media linguistics and discourse studies by highlighting the importance of critical engagement with televised news content.
