Ushbu maqola so‘z va uni o‘rgatish haqida, lekin uni qanday o‘qitishni tushunishdan avval, avvalo “so‘z boyligi” nima ekanini aniqlab olish zarur. Ushbu maqolaning kirish qismida so‘z boyligining til o‘rganishdagi ahamiyati keltiriladi. Ushbu maqolada tillarni xorijiy til sifatida o‘rganayotganlar uchun so‘zlarni o‘rgatishning ba’zi yondashuvlari keltiriladi. Unda grammatika bilan leksika orasidagi munosabat, o‘zakdosh so‘zlar, leksik bilimlarning muhim jihatlari ko‘rib chiqiladi.
